Join ABC of Georgia’s Young Professionals (YoPro) Network as we continue with our Blueprint for Success, a new event series connecting emerging leaders with accomplished industry executives. 

Our October session will feature Tonya Byrd and Christian Paul of Gilbane Building Company, who will share their personal journeys, career insights, and the experiences that shaped their path to leadership in the construction industry. Attendees will gain a valuable perspective on professional growth, leadership, and navigating a successful career in today’s market. 

Hosted at Gilbane's office, this event offers a unique opportunity to engage in an intimate setting, ask questions, and build meaningful connections with peers and industry professionals.

Speaker Bio

Tonya Byrd (Business Development Manager, Gilbane Building Company)

Tonya brings over twenty-five years of sales and industry experience developing influential relationships and delivering value. Tonya has spent her entire career in the Georgia market working in business development. She is focused on client relationships, tracking new markets, industry trends, and securing sales growth and client satisfaction.

Christian L. Paul (Senior Project Executive, Gilbane Building Company)

Christian Paul is a Senior Project Executive with Gilbane Building Company, leading the firm's Education market and project teams throughout Metro Atlanta. With 21 years of construction experience, Christian has served in progressive roles including Project Engineer, Superintendent, and Project Manager, delivering complex healthcare and education projects. She also serves as a part-time professor at the Georgia Tech School of Building Construction, teaching Advanced Project Management and contributing as a member of the Academic Advisory Board. Passionate about developing future industry leaders, Christian is committed to fostering career growth, mentorship, and professional development within her teams and throughout the construction industry.

Jeff Toebe (Preconstruction Executive, Gilbane Building Company)

Jeff Toebe brings more than 35 years of commercial construction experience, spanning quantity surveying, subcontractor procurement, and value management. After spending 15 years in St. Louis, he relocated to Atlanta in 2005 and became deeply involved with Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), serving on the Membership Development Committee, two terms on the Georgia Chapter Board of Directors (2012-2016), and as Chapter Chairman in 2016.

Today, Jeff leads Gilbane’s Preconstruction team for Georgia and South Carolina, collaborating closely with regional partners across the Southeast. Outside of work, he is an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, and certified amateur hockey coach. Over a 15-year volunteer coaching career, Jeff helped lead Harrison High School to back-to-back Georgia State High School Hockey Championships in 2015 and 2016.
