Construction has the highest suicide rate of any industry in the country. Most people in construction have already lost a friend, family member, or co-worker to suicide. It's not a comfortable topic, and that's a big part of why it is challenging to talk about on jobsites.
This session is a straight conversation about suicide and its impact on our industry. Mary Catherine Yates of Safety Consultants USA will cover what the numbers actually look like in construction, why this industry gets hit harder than most, and what the warning signs look like in the people you work around every day. She'll also get into what to do once you notice something — including how to ask someone directly, which is the part most people freeze up on.

Business Over Breakfast provides ABC of Georgia members on the business side of construction the opportunity to come together monthly to discuss ideas of common interest.
