Procurement is the process by which contractors negotiate, select and contract for the goods and services that will be used to build a project. This class explains the steps that are involved in the construction procurement process. Because procurement touches virtually every aspect of a construction organization, it is essential that all employees have a good understanding of the process. Students will learn about the procurement life cycle and become familiar with essential procurement tools including scope of work, subcontracts, purchase orders, professional service agreements, short-form subcontracts and field purchase orders.
